WHAT
IS THE ACCREDITATION ASSOCIATION?
The
Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care - also known
as AAAHC or the Accreditation Association - is a private, non-profit
organization formed in 1979 to assist ambulatory health care organizations
improve the quality of care provided to patients.
We are the
leader in ambulatory health care accreditation currently accrediting
over 4,600 organizations.
What makes
us unique is that we use practicing health care professionals
to perform the accreditation survey. Our surveyors are experienced
volunteer medical practitioners who bring a professional "real world"
understanding to the process that permits more flexibility in implementing
any recommendations.
This peer-based
survey process, along with our comprehensive education programs
and industry-leading research capabilities, set us apart from all
other accreditation organizations.
AAAHC has been
granted renewal of its Medicare Deemed Status for
Ambulatory Surgery Centers through 2012 by the Centers for Medicare
& Medicaid
Services (CMS). The AAAHC has held Deemed Status for ASCs since
1996.
Accreditation
from AAAHC helps ambulatory care centers like yours deliver quality
patient care and comply with nationally-recognized standards.
Our accreditation is recognized by third party payers, medical societies,
state and government agencies. Most importantly, it is reassuring
for your patients to know that your organization meets nationally-recognized
standards of health care.
